for about two weeks now i have bloody mucus in my stool, i have hoped it would go away, obviously not, i figure it cant be right, so i need to go to a doctor, but i dont know what kind and all that stuff, does a gastroenternologist diagnose problems or just treat them, i need all the information i can get, please help.

Along the right side you can choose bloody bowel movements and mucus in a bowel movement. Hope you can find some answers that you need.
I would start by calling my primary and get a referral to a specialist that he/she works well with.
