Many sunscreens contain chemicals which will cause problems for Rosacea sufferers. Avoid sunscreens that have octyl methoxycinnamate, octyl salicylate and PABA. Instead, try and find sunblocks which contain zinc oxide or titanium dioxide or Parsol 1789. Talk to your doctor first to make sure that using sunscreens containing these things is right for you.
This nonprofit website has reviews of several sunscreens written by people with Rosacea:
I was told that I had Rosacea at least 15 years ago. This is when I stopped sun bathing and tanning in the tanning beds. All these things only had more problems to an already very real skin issue. As you know those of us that do suffer from Rosacea have extremely sensitive skin. We burn in a matter of minutes and always unevenly. If too much sun exposure happens, we can burn so seriously that we need an immediate visit to our nearest ER.
The best thing we all can do is wear a good sun block at all times and this means in every season, even in the winter time. The sun is always there and waiting to damage your super fragile skin. Even if you are only going to and from your car and in and out of the store or the office. Wear at least a good SPF 15. I prefer higher for myself and always wear a SPF 30.
Most skin make up these days have some level of a SPF... but most nothing close to what you actually need to protect your skin. Especially, if you have any type of skin sensitivity or Rosacea.
Always apply your SPF directly to your clean skin and use extra caution while avoiding your eye areas of course. Your make up goes on over your SPF always, and last will be your finishing powder. If you wear it.
Neutrogena sun blocks are excellent and most dependable. Therefore, these are also highly recommended by almost every dermatologist. I personally have tried many brands and I have discovered Neutrogena is the most mild and never use hash chemicals that can irritate our skin. They never ever test on animals. And I like that too!
So the best SPF protection is available at any drug store and at a fair price. They have various SPF levels to choice from as needed. There are also special formulas make just for the face, which I can highly recommend because I use them every day myself. The best brand out there is Neutrogena when it comes to skin protection and skin care. I suggest anyone with Rosacea to check out the full line of skin care products available by Neutrogena. I believe in this brand to protect and pamper my skin and I think anyone that gives this brand a try will be totally satisfied and convinced that this line is the best one out there for really sensitive skin like ours.

I have suffered with Rosacea and I use oil free faces by Hawaiian Tropic. I have also used Neutrogena.
