Hello, Last night my girlfriend and I were cleaning the apartment. We were moving the blowflex so that we could vaccuum the floor around/under it when she accadently let go of the bench which fell down and hit me directly on top of the head. The object in question weighs probally about 20 pounds and is attached on 1 side. The object dident drop but swung down from the attached location. It hurt quite a bit but as it was 11pm and I had work the next morning at 8 we decided to check my pupals and then had me follow her finger with my eyes to see if i could. I was able to do both of those but am worried. What should I do?
Your question is an important one. If you haven't already done so, you should call your doctor, explain your situation and any symptoms that you may be having. Include things such as dizziness or passing out, double vision or blurred vision, excessive sleepiness, irritability, memory problems, pain when you touch the area where you were hit, swelling over the injury site, or extending beyond, any changes in your ability to do your job, and any changes that your girlfriend may have noticed. Your doctor will advise you as to whether you need an x ray or CT scan to check for a fracture or internal bleeding, and how to monitor your health over the next few days.
