I've been experiencing dry, salty tasting lips for about a week or so now. I'm not having any other health issues.

The most simple explanation may that you are not getting enough hydration. Has this become a new problem? Sometimes during the summer months even increased exposure to sun can cause dryness of the lips. In the winter the culprit tends to be the cold. As for the salty taste would it be possible that you are doing activities and actually tasting perspiration on your lips? are you on any new medications at all? These are things to consider. Try drinking more water and always use a good quality lip balm especially during the winter and summer months. Sometimes when the fat cells in the lips dry out there may a slight taste of saltiness and that may be what you are describing.
